This research explores the practices of regenerative ranching (RR), highlighting its benefits for mitigating climate change while improving soil health. The study employs qualitative methodologies, including interviews with 52 ranchers in Australia and USA, to gather evidence on RR’s effectiveness. Key findings indicate that RR practices, such as optimizing grazing patterns and reducing chemical inputs, lead to increased soil carbon sequestration (SCS), restoration of biodiversity, and financial viability for farms. Additionally, evidence suggests that these practices enhance community resilience against climate variability. While climate change mitigation is a positive outcome of RR, it is often a secondary motivator, the evidence indicating that ranchers are mainly driven by enhanced land productivity, reduced costs, and a sustainable ranching lifestyle.
